Dr. Camille Anna-Lisa Leblanc, associate professor, recently accepted the Icelandic Society of Biology's honorary award, which is given to a young and aspiring biologist who has shown good results at the beginning of their career. Camille has performed exceptionally well since completing her PhD, leading major research projects, mentoring graduate students and publishing numerous articles. Camille recently took over as Head of Aquaculture and Fish Biology at Hólar University.

At the same time, an award for a successful career was also given and this time it went to Ingileif Jónsdóttir, professor emerita in immunology at the University of Iceland's Faculty of Medicine and Icelandic Genetics.

The award was presented at a ceremony at the conference of the Icelandic Society of Biology, which took place in Askja, the Natural Science Building of the University of Iceland.
