Lektor við Hestafræðideild - umsóknarfrestur framlengdur til 23. apríl

Við Hestafræðideild Háskólans á Hólum er laus staða lektors. Við erum að leita eftir einstaklingi sem hefur þekkingu og reynslu á sviði hestafræða eða í skyldum greinum, s.s. búvísindum eða dýralækningum. Þekking á kennslufræði er kostur. Mikilvægt er að búa yfir reynslu og miklum áhuga á hestum.

Í starfinu felst:
• Kennsla í grunn-og framhaldsnámi
• Rannsóknir og öflun rannsóknastyrkja
• Virk þátttaka í gæðastarfi og stjórnun deildarinnar og háskólans
• Erlent og innlent samstarf

Menntunar- og hæfnikröfur:
• Meistaragráða eða sambærilegt, doktorspróf er kostur
• Reynsla af rannsóknum og stjórnun
• Hæfni í samskiptum og geta til samstarfs í nútímaháskólaumhverfi
• Ábyrgð, frumkvæði, sjálfstæð vinnubrögð og skipulagshæfni

Hestafræðideild Háskólans á Hólum býður upp á BS nám í reiðmennsku og reiðkennslu auk meistaranáms í hestafræðum. Markmið Hestafræðideildar er að veita fagmenntun á sviði reiðmennsku, reiðkennslu, tamninga og hestahalds og að vinna að þróun og nýsköpun með rannsóknastarfsemi.

Um meðferð umsókna, mat á hæfi umsækjenda og ráðningu í starfið er farið eftir ákvæðum laga um opinbera háskóla nr. 85/2008 og reglna um nýráðningar og framgang akademískra starfsmanna við Háskólann á Hólum. Launakjör eru skv. kjarasamningi fjármálaráðherra og viðkomandi stéttarfélags. Um starfskjör, réttindi og skyldur gilda að öðru leyti lög um réttindi og skyldur starfsmanna ríkisins nr. 70/1996.

Umsóknir skulu berast á netfangið umsoknir@holar.is merktar „lektor hestafræði“. Með umsókn skal fylgja afrit af prófskírteinum, ferilskrá og samantekt fræðastarfs. Einnig skal fylgja kynningarbréf þar sem umsækjandi gerir grein fyrir störfum sínum við kennslu og rannsóknir. Umsækjandi skal útvega tvenn meðmæli sem meðmælendur sendi beint á ofangreint netfang.

Assistant professor in the Department of Equine Science

Hólar University’s Department of Equine Science invites applications for the full time position of an Assistant Professor. We are seeking a highly qualified individual with knowledge and experience in the field of equine science or related fields, such as animal husbandry or veterinary sciences. Pedagogic training is of benefit and experience and interest in horses is important.

A successful applicant will:
• Teach undergraduate and graduate students
• Conduct research in their field and supervise students
• Take active part in the quality work and administration of the department and the university
• Participate in international projects and collaboration

Requirements regarding education and qualifications:
• Master degree or the equivalent, a doctoral degree is an advantage
• Experience in research and management
• Good skills in human relations and the ability to collaborate in a modern academic environment
• Responsibility, initiative, independent work and organizational ability

The Department of Equine Science at Hólar University offers a BS degree in riding and riding instructions and a MSc degree in Equine Science. The objective of the department is to provide education in the fields of riding, teaching riding, training and horse keeping. Furthermore, to foster advancement and innovation in the sector through research.

The evaluation of academic merits will be in accordance with the Act on Public Universities No. 84/2008 and regulations on recruitment and promotion of academic staff at Hólar University. Salary is in accordance with the current collective wage and salary agreement between the relevant union, and the Minister of Finance. Otherwise, rights and obligations follow the Act 70/1996 on the Rights and Obligations of Civil Servants.
